Friday, October 30

DC Casineros Cuban Dance Social
Halloween Edition

7–8 PM: Cuban Popular Dance & Musicality with Rachel Ortiz.

8 PM–12:30 AM: Dance into the night with DJ Cokie and DJ 1999, Cuban music and our dance community.

Bring your friends and a costume you can dance in.

Saturday, October 31 · 1–5 PM

Three workshops with Rachel

  1. 1:00–2:10 PM · Son Cubano SantiagueroRhythm, musicality and the character of Son from Santiago de Cuba.
  2. 2:25–3:35 PM · Intermediate–Advanced Rueda de Casino — SantiagoFor dancers with Rueda de Casino experience.
  3. 3:50–5:00 PM · Men’s & Ladies’ Cuban StylingBody movement, musical expression and personal style.

15-minute breaks between workshops.

$25 per workshop · $60 for all three

Meet Rachel Ortiz

Rachel Ortiz is a Cuban dancer and instructor from Santiago de Cuba and a former principal dancer with All Stars Santiago de Cuba. Now based in Florida, she brings Santiago’s musicality, movement and Cuban dance traditions to the classroom and the social floor.
